So I see many people giving their reviews about the shows lead character Billie. You can read all of those. But these women who want it all with no regard for their husbands who they decided to Marry but leave without any form of counseling is giving a toxic message because in the end they are still not happy. This review is about the best friend Sasha. A success black woman and author whose whole brand is about being single and independent forever! Even when it comes to the love of her life showing up. We see a success black man, a doctor! who loves and supports her and still that’s not enough. Her brand means more. She rather sell the narrative of a black woman with no partner than being in Love. As a black woman myself, this affects our community in a negative way already. Black woman are already told they are the least desired especially by our black men and here you have a woman who is feeding into the idea for money. Society does not seem like seeing black women in loving Relationships especially with black men. There’s nothing Empowering about this story. It’s sad. Historically it’s giving the white slave master (her agent) separating the black woman from her mate. Having to give up love, and be the strong independent black woman.
