Despite being disappointed that tinkerbell didn't have her trade mark blonde hair ..I did think she looked beautiful. And whilst the imaging and film work were nothing short of what u expect from disney ..as a huge disney fan I felt disappointed. This film suffers from trying to hard and over thinking and complicating the story.. it was like they had taken all the Peter pan films ever made before hand.. mashed them all together, threw some fancy cgi on top, then decide that they didn't like the original story so re wrote this to attempt to be a girl power , multi inclusive message. This meant that unfortunately Peter came across as a bit pathetic. Wendy was no darling at all ..hook was just mean and unfunny and tinkerbell lost all her sassy personality and jealousy that made her so fabulous I the 1st place. The story seemed to only spotlight images from what u remember of the cartoon, making the story hard to really make sense of as it became confusing and boring. The film was slow and lost its endearing magic, heart and emotion. This film will be like marmite to most .. some will love it for its inclusive and modern thinking & story telling. Whilst others hoping to re enjoy or find a new take on the magic will be left disappointed. Its worth a watch on a Sunday afternoon but not a classic I would re watch over and over and given the choice I would pick the animated version followed by hook over this film every time when asked. There was a reason this was a straight to disney + release not to cinema..
