Strong, interesting female lead character, sgt Det Trudeau. Each season follows the solving of a murder over the period of approx 1 week. Season 1 is set in a small mining village in the arctic snow. Interesting characters and the storyline keeps you guessing right to the end as to who the murderer is. S2 is set in Quebec, and while it isn’t as strong as S1, the characters are interesting, likeable, and the murder mystery complex enough to surprise you. Great scenery, interesting characters. Great acting. An enjoyable watch. Is in French with English subtitles. Not an American action film so if you are after car chases etc you won’t enjoy. This is story and character driven.

Average. Some over acting and long winded speeches detract from what should have been a great storyline. Some of the characters are great but overall it tries too hard to be serious and instead comes across as melodramatic. It’s such a pity it wasn’t tighter. Would I recommend it? If it’s raining and you’re stuck at home and there is nothing else to watch - then yes, but don’t expect to walk away saying it’s great…. It does the job ie fills the hours. But there are better things to watch. Main Issues with it - too many characters with backstories, some main characters are so overacted and it is annoying, the main story is overly complicated when interwoven with the competing character backstories… it takes you down tangents that ultimately go nowhere. But if you like car chases, explosions and suspenseful chases then you will be entertained. Is it believable? Hell no.

GREAT SHOW! Reminds me of The West Wing however the dialogue is easier to follow, and the mystery of who is the actual a-hole in the marriage (or is there even one), adds to all of the political storylines, and hooks you in. The acting is great, the characters are all full, interesting, smart and likeable, and the storyline’s (there are multiple that run across the season) keep you interested and involved. I can’t wait for season 2. So it’s a story about a marriage, foreign diplomacy, ambition, trust, and politics. And by politics it’s the world of international politics as well as the politics of a marriage and the politics of 2 big careers in a marriage. Highly recommend.

This show is rubbish. The information he gives rarely resonates with the person and instead they start scanning their minds to try to find a link to his tidbit. Then, the information is usually useless and pointless eg "she went suddenly and doesnt wabt you to feel bad" (then u find out she died of a slow debilitating disease). If this guy legitimately has a talent, this show does him no favours. Instead, i suspect he and his guests use this show as a way of keeping their names in the paper. Its an odd show that leaves you empty, unfulfilled and wanting so much more. At the end of each episode you feel you wasted your time.

I wanted to love this show. The acting was great - especially Laura linney and Jason Bateman. The story was great, however the show was often just too slow, with far too many long gratuitous scenic shots, and scenes that ran for far too long when they really didn’t add to the storyline. At the end of season 3 I just gave up and walked away. The storyline inconsistencies became annoying eg a family that have to hide a secret because their lives depend on it, yet they tell every Tom, dick and harry. A character would become a major problem and they had to be taken care of, but it dragged on for a whole season and was meant to be a cliff hanger - for me this was annoying as you could see what was going to happen 3 episodes earlier. Things just moved too slowly and I got bored. So for a show that had a great storyline, it just didn’t deliver.
