Medical examiners testify this is a burial shroud of a man who had suffered a Roman scourging and relatively brief execution by crucifixion. Evidence of a facial beating and scalp wounds are there. Besides the wrist and foot punctures there is also a lancia spear wound on the victims side rib area. Is there any one historical figure to have all of these characteristics? There's also no scientific proof of what caused the image on the linen. Radiation is one theory.
