This show is fantastic! While it helps to have background knowledge of other Trek shows such as Voyager, you do not need to have watched them to follow this show. The story and character development is better than many live action shows! It has an epic story to tell. Watch it! You won’t be disappointed! Go boldly! PS - I’m 40 and love it! I only started watching Star Trek series a few years ago.
