I really don't understand the hype around the book. No doubt it's a wonderful book but the victimization of the protagonist lily really turns me off. First of there really wasn't any similarity between the father n rule. And most importantly the basic understanding of relationship according to me is one where one doesn't keep secrets from one another. She kept secrets, she kept things to herself . Moreover she knew he had his childhood traumas. No doubt he was at fault but it was even get who triggered his behaviour. According to me relationship doesn't have any room for secrets. N when secrets are revealed in the most uncanny way not everyone have the level of understanding to interpret the situation diligently.
