Not worth the money of a theater ticket and not worth the time. No context. No narrative. Weird sex scenes. Joaquin phoenix’s performance ruined the movie. This was a parody of Napoleon and not an epic biopic. At no time, does the movie even attempt to explain or give context to what Napoleon wanted or what was driving Napoleon. Joaquin showed zero passion and zero charisma. Napoleon as a leader of a nation was utterly unbelievable as a result of his performance. Very disappointing. The battle scenes were spectacular, but few and far between and the slog that took place between battles was too much to overcome, so much that I left the theater with an hour left in the movie. First time I have ever left a movie theater early. I was not the first to go. Others left early too.
