This movie is so touching several scenes brought me to tears. It develops slowly as slow is the making of the superb blue caftan in the title but worthy of seeing every minute. A movie about love, about suppressed sexuality, about the flaws of human nature but also the power of redemption through acts of love, devotion, kindness and forgiveness. The 3 characters are sympathetic and appealing, especially the ill wife who gives her blessing for her husband to love another man after she is gone and as she tells him: Don't be afraid to love. The last scenes and the fate of the blue caftan tug at the heart. And the brief final scene is full of hope for a future free to love without repression any longer.

This is another woke apocalyptic doomsday movie with the message that we ruined the environment so the environment is getting back at us by killing us in the most painful way possible. Another brainwashing attempt on the audience. To prevent this horrible death all these families of friends are getting together to take a pill that guarantees a painless death. The host family and kids are insufferable and foul-mouthed as if parents and kids were in a competition to see who has the dirtiest mouth. I have never heard the F word so many times in a movie. Disgusting. They have the stereotypical gay couple who are also interracial, another interracial heterosexual couple and a heterosexual white couple. All unlikable and dysfunctional. The movie tries to be funny in a depressing atmosphere. This mix does not work. I kept fast forwarding to get to the awful end. Awful movie.
