Has to be the worst movie I’ve seen of all time.
I will spare you a summary as many other have already provided one. I will point out issues I had with this movie.
Lack of character development. Very little time and attention was given to pulling the audience into the lives of the characters. New characters are introduced without any context and go on to be very vague about their backstory. This makes it incredibly hard to emphasize with the characters during the emotional scenes. In the middle of a dramatic fight scene, an unknown character with absolutely no backstory shows up, saves the protagonist and disappears never to be heard from again.
Plot holes. There is an incredible amount of plot holes in this movie. In the end you’re left with more questions than answers. The movie focuses exclusively on the main characters and provides no context to the development in their environment at large. We keep hearing about this “Q-zone” we never see it. How do these people get groceries or eat? What’s the point of selling those immunity bracelets when money is seemingly worthless? The biggest upset of all was when the main character slips the immunity bracelet on the female lead right in front of the army and sanitation transporters. Very unrealistic and unbelievable. Her transporters didn’t question that she didn’t have it on the entire time until this random guy shows up gets very close to her and suddenly poof she has the bracelet. Over all this movie’s plot had more holes in it than Swiss cheese.
Don’t waste your time on this movie. This is just a greedy disgusting cash grab by Hollywood hoping to capitalize off of a pandemic that claimed millions of real lives all around the world. That’s not to say that a movie about COVID should not or could not be made, but this is not it. At the very least they should have dedicated a tribute in the end to those that lost their lives to COVID (glad they didn’t though because this movie is awful).
