The Robe has been a huge favorite of mine since I was a young boy. Richard Burton delivers a spellbinding performance as the conflicted and tortured Roman tribune who oversaw the crucifixion of Jesus. Jean Simmons is so beautiful and passionate as Burton’s love interest and she is an all time favorite as well. Music score is impeccable and captures the essence of this incredible story, holding the viewer’s interest throughout. Both Burton and Simmons obviously went on to have absolutely stellar careers…..becoming two of the most important stars of their film eras. A masterful Hollywood epic on every level!

Saw this epic western with my parents and brother at nine years old. It blew my away, and will continue to be an enjoyable experience based on the genre, history and fantastic cast! Completely fell in love with Debbie Reynolds. Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck and John Wayne became cinematic heroes of mine to this day. And how can I forget Karl Malden and Agnes Moorehead…two of the greatest character actors in Hollywood.
