Too ploddy, mostly about apes and next to no human story. Humans are suppose to have lost speech and interlect because of the mutated virus centuries ago. Yet two humans not only speak but have knowledge of defunct complex machinery, with no explanation as to how the female knows this. Would have been much better story if an origin movie for the underground human mutants from Beneath the planet of the apes, prior to the nuclear war , not between human to human , but after the war for the planet of the apes. Conclusion. Weak story, Pet Eagles.... . Hollywood scriptwriters what we're you thinking.?

The action scenes involving Godzilla are the best I've seen. The main character seeking redemption for earlier indecisiveness nicely moves the story along. Some quieter moments can drag, but only because the Monster scene are so spectacular you can't wait for more. The soundtrack is awesome in putting you in a state of apprehension. Although the acting is typical of Japanese movies. I. E over dramatic. This Is proper GODZILLA movie made in the original style.

Quite frankly. BORING. I don't need to know about his sex life. Napoleon portrayed as a whimpering sap to his wife. . No evidence of dynamic leadership , . Ridley scott has been and still is a fantastic battle scene director. Watch kingdom of Heaven directors cut, but he seems to have lost his way since his Moses film.
