I enjoyed xcom2 a lot played it a fair few times but this is just not fun. Missions repeat a lot enemy numbers grow but you don't so your only advantage is your squads level. There isnt really a tech tree research helps but overall its meaningless compared to xcom2. The difficult spikes a lot after a dozen or so hours and as I said your squad levels all that matters so losing one person sets you back a lot.
