Oh dear, it feels like 2 different shows that that just don't go together. I went for banghra and got 75% corny Disney tuneless musical, then it changed to 25% banghra,. I feel that someone wrote a low quality musical set in a US college with no memorable songs, which may have been cancelled and someone says why not give it an Indian theme. There seems to be little value in the US setting, other than an excuse to allow the characters to be culturally unaware and get away with not being able to pronounce punjabi words correctly.
