The acting in this movie is INCREDIBLE. Fraser and Sink do such an amazing job throughout. Some cons: The plot was missing depth at times and the music choice was odd. Rather than going with a sad soundtrack, they went with almost a horror one. I didn’t understand the attack on Christianity and the introduction of that character. I thought it felt random and out of place. As opposed to that, I would’ve liked to see more character development of Charlie - show more of his social struggles, the stigma around obesity, and how that’s impacted his willingness to connect with his daughter. But I still give this movie 5 stars because the acting is THAT good. Definitely recommend the film to everyone.

WOW. I’m at a loss for words. Haven’t stopped thinking about the movie since I watched it. This movie was so different from my usual movies - it didn’t really have a major plot line, no climax, no character development or anything. It was a very strange movie, all taking place over 3 hours. I left the theatre confused and bewildered. And yet, I can honestly say this is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. I was hooked throughout the movie and genuinely into it. It never felt like it was dragging on. I am sure there is a deep meaning to the movie. It’s not apparent, in your face - like platform was. It really is up to your interpretation. And that’s what I loved. I can see how many people, majority even, may not like the film. It’s not a cookie cutter movie by any means. But I can also see this being the movie that makes many people start watching movies again.
