This show is probably my favorite show ever. I love that the cast looks like teenagers, acne and all, and act like teenagers too. Sometimes the characters are awkward, and they have flaws. I especially like that the conflicts in the show are messy and allow the audience to decide for themselves if the character made a good decision. The head writer and director have described it as "trusting the audience", and I love that. I also appreciate that the gay love story isn't handled in a cliche or stereotypical way.
Of course, Simon and Wilhelm have amazing chemistry throughout the entire show. The actor that plays Simon, Omar Rudberg, does an incredible job especially because it is his acting debut. And I am so impressed by Edvin Ryding, who played Prince Wilhelm, because he improvised a lot of the best scenes in the show and gave his character a lot of habits that make him feel real (constantly pushing back his hair, rubbing his chest when anxious, biting his nails).
I watched this show multiple times because I am in love with the entire cast and pick up on cool new details every time I rewatch a scene. I am so proud of everyone that worked on this show and so happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve. Hopefully we get a season 2!

A lot of people are made at how Simon and Wilhelm don't get a happily-ever-after fairytale ending, and it's frustrating, but I really appreciate that the writers took a chance here and didn't give them that for the first season. It wouldn't seem genuine for Simon to accept being a secret, and it would completely destroy the realism that the actors, writers and director carefully built up throughout the series.
