Loved Twister with Helen Hunt, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Bill Paxton so very much. I was hopeful that TWISTERS would pay a worthy homage to the first movie and then deliver with awesome and more modern special effects. Indeed it delivered on special effects, good actors, and thrilling scenes. The reason I am giving three stars: The writers and director fell short on the the story. The overall story is weak. No real estate person or land corporation would fund an entire team of storm chasers with special military radar in exchange for tornado victims names and numbers. This is absurd. Furthermore, the writers and director insulted those of us who loved Twister by not bringing in Helen Hunt after leading us on that the main character was the child of Bill and Jo Harding then yanked the rug with the appearance of Maura Tierney. She is fine actress but this was a huge disappointment. The whole theater grumbled at this scene. DO not waste your money in the theater for this movie. It is totally fine to wait until it comes out on Netflix or Amazon. Huge disappointment.
