The original WW was easily DC comics greatest film to date. This film is remarkable only in the disappointment it elicits from those of us who were expecting at least 80% of the original. Instead we get a film that is a solid view one time, but whose plot will largely be forgotten by next week. The action scenes from the childhood Diana were enjoyable, but those with Gal Gadot were unremarkable. There isn’t a scene in the movie that I have any interest in rewatching. Both Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal were horribly cast and make terrible bad guys. I assume Wiig is meant to bring the ditzy woman character to life before becoming the “apex predator,” but she wasn’t funny nor did she ever seem to meet the standard of a villain comparable in strength to WW.
