The book sadly outlines the disregard too many doctors show black pregnant women in America and provides shocking and horrific statistics of their disregard of black womens maternal health to the point of the death of the mother, baby, or both! It was an education I wish I had not received, however the doctor (author) did her research and shared hard facts to support how dangerous it is to be a pregnant black woman in America! I pray Momnibus will raise the awareness of facts outlined in the book and change the statistics. It’s deplorable and gut wrenching!! Tears! American must do better! It’s safer to have a baby in a third world country over America if you’re Black! See Netflix “The Resident” Season 2: Episode 20 “If not now when?” Which share similar facts noted on the book (based on true stories)!! Sad Episode!!😪

It was a phenomenal read!!! I learned about the awesome Stradivarius, which I was not familiar! After learning more about the author, I view the book as a real Bildungsroman as he experienced many of the “hard to read” injustices as a young musician that weee modified for the book. Fortunately he had anchors in his grandmother and music teacher who helped him develop into the musician, teacher, and writer he is today. A must read!!
