Not terrible but not great either. Some good messages about not giving up and the importance of family. However Disney seemed more concerned with making a political statement. More effort should have gone into a clever and genuinely funny script. (Lots of recycled and unoriginal humor.) Great special effects, sub par writing. A clearer explanation of Zurg’s origins would have been helpful as well. And no Tim Allen? C’mon Disney.

Beautiful animation combined with the same political swill that kids' movie studios seem bent on shoving down people's throats. Similar to some of the tripe delivered in Turning Red. Parent's rules should be selectively followed, over-charged sexual diversity and Left-progressive messages, etc. Another great concept politically twisted into a disappointment.
