Really enjoyed this book- so much detail and interweaving threads. Fascinating glimpses of life on the outskirts of Derry, on the edge of N.Ireland, at the edge of Europe and the Atlantic. So many stories, deftly told, an important record of a specific era.

Loved this film! I read the book first so could appreciate what was selected to appear in the film and what was left out...good choices were made but obviously read the book for more background and detail. Saoirse Ronan is really convincing as the protagonist and the rest of the cast work well. The stunning backdrop of Orkney pulls it all together. I'll watch it again soon.
