I actually never took to this album Heartbeat City by The Cars,,, released in summer of 1984 when I was 18. I think it's too over produced,,,too glossy sounding,,,and it doesn't have the quircky yet powerful funky grooves of their first 4 albums. It just sounds boring to me,,,as much now at age 58. Drive is a great song,,,so is the title track Heartbeat City,,,it sounds classic and original,,,like their earlier work. Quite telling that their next album unfortunately was a complete bomb,,,Door to Door.
