Just finished watching the movie after Netflix released it on their platform. Overall, the movie was mediocre. Besides the wonderful animation, which by the movie’s director, is no surprise. The pretty colors did not save the film of the plot’s flaws. It was a movie I assumed that was supposed to be an adventure (across Japan), romance, with some supernatural-fantasy aspect, however, the movie tackled too many elements that many of its plot points felt rushed or underbaked. It wasn’t a bad movie, just wasn’t the best either. Watch the movie if you’re looking for a well-animated movie.
