I just finished watching Monday's show where you showed the pictures of John catching the outdoor grill on fire when he tried cooking the rib roasts. It was a great reminder for me. I wanted to impress my then almost fiancee with a special birthday dinner. This was back in 1974 & I was using the Julia Child's cookbook. She had a recipe for duck using the outdoor grill. I was doing exactly what the recipe said to do keeping the duck covered & on a low heat. John my fiancee didn't know about the instructions & wanted to peek inside. When he lifted the lid on the grill the air hitting the fatty duck drippings created a HUGE fire ball. It literally blew off the lid to the unit while singeing his eyebrows & arms. We found the lid on the other side of the yard. The duck by the way was as black as those roasts of yours ! To this day I don't know what I did wrong. I always meant to write Julia but never did.
