If you’ve read the books then you know this show was a complete disaster! I could write an entire essay but I’ll keep it brief by starting off with the virals! The virals in the show vs the ones in the book were NOTHING alike! In the novels they are described as creatures with defined/muscular builds, who are capable of moving as great speeds with superhuman strength with an unfathomed hunger for blood these virals tore people apart. They have rows of razor sharp teeth, claws and most importantly the virals glow green and they come from above vs the show where they look like your normal vampires with black veins. Another issue I had with the show was the casting. In the novels Amy was portrayed to be white vs the show they changed Amy to be black. Babcock was a white man who never stopped talking yet they changed him to a woman with a trouble past who Richard’s feelings for. The show also left out key characters such as Peter, Theo, Sarah, Micheal, Alicia, Auntie basically the entire first colony!! Lacy who plays a large role in the first two novels! Guilder/Grey who played huge roles in the novels were underutilized in the tv series. I can go on and on.. bottom line is that The Passage should have been made into a three part movie trilogy instead of an TV series. This could have had potential to be one of the better vampire movies with how well the characters are written and just the entire plot from start to finish. As a fan of the books this show is so disappointing on all levels. One can only hope that someday it gets done correctly so we can truly watch it on the big screen this novel deserves to be done correctly!!!
