I am stunned by the lack of objectivity shown in these comments! Don't get me wrong, a lot of the actions of the police shown on this program are wrong and I'm stunned by the lack of action taken against many of the offending officers. However, people clearly have NO idea what the police officers have to deal with day in, day out and apparently people seem to expect them to be fully empathetic, emotionless robots! It just doesn't exist. A lot of the people complaining need to live a day in the life of a police officer to understand what a hard job it is.
For example, the Somali boy stop and searched - completely wrong as there was no reason to search him and it's a clear case of racial profiling by a specific officer.
The lady on the bus though was refusing to leave the bus despite the fact that she hadn't paid for a ticket, given her behaviour to the police officers I can believe she was rude to the bus driver and he has every right to ask for her to be removed. She then totally over reacts and she is integral in her child becoming mixed up in the affray. That's my opinion. I can totally understand why she wasn't up for rocking up to pick up her child from school in a police car but why she couldn't take the next bus, call the school, etc I don't get. The other thing that I don't see in the program is any of the community leaders offering what the police should have done. Not one of them says what they could and should have done other than saying they should have stepped back. How long for? Then what when she still won't budge? Could they do that in the face of being threatened with assault?
