This film is sexually explicit, funny, grizzly and lovely and hinges around the self-discovery of Bella Baxter. Imagine a successfully created female Frankenstein’s monster-played exquisitely by Emma Stone.
This movie really made me think. I saw it over 12 hours ago and I’m still thinking about it. It is definitely a deep film – not a rollicking comedy or an easy flick to watch, but I was lost in it from the minute it started and forgot about myself in every way. My being simply dissolved into the story until the end. It’s cinematically gorgeous and rich with both despicable, and delightful characters. The ideas and language, are not what polite society often wants and expects and it’s set with such cinematic beauty, I’d like to pause many a frame and climb inside. The central theme is of feminine discovery and independence.
I loved it. I’d go see it again tomorrow, but my calendar is booked.
