I honestly wouldn’t listen to the critics with this one. As long as you don’t go into expecting an incredible Oscar worthy performance, it’s a joy to watch. It’s entertaining and a good watch if you are bored or with this kids. It is rated PG for a reason. Cabello’s performance shocked me the most. She’s got an incredible voice, and her acting is honestly great, especially considering this is her first acting gig. While it did feel a bit tacky, and preachy, I think it’s a great watch for kids an teens. The message, while kind of shoved down your throat, is a good one for kids, especially little girls to hear. I think these critics hated the movie before even watching it.
