I visited Cuba last year and took the tour of the house. The use of the real locations was a treat, especially having been there. The negative reviews are politically motivated as the film was made during a too brief thaw in US-Cuban relations, and portrayed Hemingway as sympathetic with the revolution. I was confused by the end, as it did not show Castro taking power and Hemingway shaking hands with him in 1960.
