This is really the only Quantum Leap. The reboot is a joke. In years to come, the reboot will hopefully be regarded as an aberration. It is as if the creators never actually watched any of the original series. Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell were like lightning in a bottle. They gave a show with a relatively limited budget a huge amount of heart - I looked forward to every new instalment and was almost never disappointed ("Mirror Image" was interesting but should never have been the way it ended). However, I would rather watch the rushed finale a thousand times over than be subjected to any more of the reboot. I got just over halfway through season 1 of that, and couldn't watch any more. Hopefully the showrunners will see sense eventually, rather like what happened with Star Trek: Picard. I won't hold my breath though.

When I saw that Quantum Leap was returning after 30 years, I hoped that the revival would do justice to what was a fantastic and groundbreaking series with a huge amount of heart. Sadly it has not lived up to its potential. The new QL is dull, focuses far too much on what is happening in the present and no characters other than Ben Song are in any way interesting. I wanted to like this, but will just re-watch the original. I doubt this will make it past 2 seasons, given it's low ratings.

The first two seasons were meandering and messy, and I often had to remind myself that this was a Star Trek series. The third season has so far been excellent, and this is because it actually feels like Star Trek - something that can't be said for Discovery, for example. Fingers crossed that Season 3 will continue on its current trajectory!

I love "The Boys" and have really looking forward to season 4, so when I saw a spin-off had been released, I thought I'd give it a go. I lasted 20 minutes of episode 1. There was nothing remotely engaging about it at all. Shallow characters and a desperate need to push an agenda. I wonder if any of those giving positive reviews have actually watched the show. Anyone who suggests this is better than "The Boys" is delusional. I just hope I can watch season 4 without having to engage with Gen V at all.
