I think it was worthwhile. I assume LGBT+ representation from that long ago is hard to find, so props to those who made it. The beginning is confusing, but all is revealed in time. Keeping in mind that the a-holes in this movie were likely the normal mindset of the times, the characters who don't treat the gay characters like scum are very admirable. We stan cool butler dude. Things were very different back then. It's very interesting to have a look into the past like this. Some characters reject it fully, some are silent allies, others teeter back and forth with their opinion. One character makes statements equivalent to "if you've had a crush on someone, you have no room in your heart for another person" because *rest of sentence in sarcasm* if a person desired a man there is no room in his heart to also love a woman. Regardless of gender of the object of affection, I do wonder if people watching back then also realized the flaw in her logic or if they agreed. Anyways, good movie, don't get too hung up on the homophobia (oof, bad word choice?). Lol, watch this movie and then appreciate the times we live in now.
