Joker was very dark and unapologetic, that is what people want. For folie à deux I would argue that the film made its way well into 3/4 before my perceived ending was flipped. I wanted mayhem in the Gotham universe eluding to films some grew up with. I recognize that the authors took to the writing as almost an essay intrinsically explaining the split Arther experiences and ultimately recognizes in his political violence. This however, debilitates any old arguably true action films of the early 2000s. Our Mad Man Must free himself of authenticity and impregnate terror but fall short to see he has lost himself entirely in chasing success that was once held by him and only him.
Kinda makes me mad that politicians won’t see this, to point out the real mental illness is adhering to ideas that wants to see terror and destruction in a “theater” of war. Much like current events. The question is when will the non life threatening hero ever come in and direct action for not so novel problems like these.
