First few books were really good then unfortunately gets very tedious towards the middle and picks up again at the end. It's as if the writer just padded the story out to make more books, it was a struggle to read very repetitive with long periods of nothing really happening to advance the story. Clearly Robert Jordan was a Tolkien fan and was not opposed to borrowing directly from his work. An OK read, hoping the TV series will be better than the books.
