As someone who identifies as mixed race, I can relate to the strong feelings that Matt James put forward. That said, I think Matt has missed an opportunity to help himself. To stubbornly cling to mistakes made by previous generations and to propell his resentment forward, he has chosen at best to be callous and unforgiving. At worst, he was looking for an excuse to throw a poor young woman under the bus in order to find a politically correct way to break up with this woman without looking bad by playing the race card. I understand that Matt will be meeting with a therapist and hopefully he will put in the work to learn tolerance, respect for women, and in the process help himself to be a better man.
