Great for around the first 400 pages. Was definitely a worthy second attempt after "I am Pilgrim" which I thought was as close to brilliant as you get. I have no idea why such an accomplished writer would suddenly decide to branch off into a seemingly separate genre, but he did and unfortunately ruined it for me. This was an automatic purchase after enjoying his first book so much, but any third offering will take some convincing for me to buy if this is his new direction. Not the worst book I have read, but the last third of it delivered close to zero enjoyment.
