The film is undoubtedly memorable for its incredible design and masterful CGI. It’s a true, bone-chilling body horror that made me cry in the cinema for the first time—not out of sadness, but from sheer terror. It's the kind of horror that makes you wish the protagonist would die quickly, as it feels like the only way to free her (and the audience) from the agonizing physical and visual torment.
The movie exceeded all my expectations with its visual impact, genuinely provoking nausea, tears, awe, disgust, sadness, and fear. I appreciated that, despite all the horror, there was still room for irony and humor.
However, the film is also packed with a fair share of clichés and a forced sense of seriousness, particularly in some of the laboratory scenes. The design elements are both captivating, with their color palettes and minimalism, yet at times feel somewhat worn out and overused. But honestly, these details pale in comparison to the overall experience—the movie is a brilliant attempt at creating a modern, stylish horror with a fantastic cast.
