"I loved 'Tunnel'! It's not just another crisi-survival drama; more than the human endurance and resilience that surfaces when we realize nobody is coming to save us, 'Tunnel' beautifully captures the faces of people in a self-centred society, unlike most survival movies that stops at the first comma. It is also about the desperate choices we are forced to make when we face crisis and pressure, and the helplessness. It gives hope through the small acts of kindness, strong sense of service/duty, of the minority called true heroes, who makes all the impact, gets all the blame and are left with nothing but great heart, because they chose to be good and not being “seen”. The movie also sheds light on how the media and government take credit for dedication of others, while the true heroes who made the difference are often punished for breaking protocol, carefully planting humour too.
Not a natural disaster, 'Tunnel' portrays man's disaster , and the politics that come with it, and hope. The climax is particularly well done, as it resonates with the current media and political climate. Overall, 'Tunnel' is an engaging and thought-provoking movie that beautifully captures the complex realities of modern society.
