This is a beautifully written historical fiction about a young woman who is faced with many challenges and manages to rise to the occasion. You will travel with Victoria, as a young girl who takes on the responsibilities of being “the woman” of the household. As a river goes, Victoria navigates the turns a river takes and faces new challenges along the way. Each of the characters who impact Victoria have a story of their own. I highly recommend this book. This would be an excellent book for a book club and discussion.
