If you want to see a brilliant comedian prove she’s an artist and a fighter for all the things she parodies, watch this documentary. Savor it. The honesty and insight into grief, love, death, and birth will win over any previous critic. Amy and her hubby go there and offer something far different than another celebrity vanity project. They have invited us into having been eyes to see the women we call mothers, sisters, and friends. It is a prayer to see mothers with far wiser eyes and to see the primary ways our world of men fails women is by not knowing their stories.
However, you need to actually watch it before you judge it. When you see the journey she walked for over nine months to become a mother and the words she utters about it all being worth it to meet her baby, you’ll be transformed. I couldn’t leave the couch until all three parts completed.
This documentary is about love. We needed this masterpiece at this moment. Thank you for your courage to live it and then for the wisdom to share it.
