I love the Foundation books, but find the series to be offensive to the spirit of the books. I love the replacement of some of the male characters with female versions, but taking away the best thing about Asimov’s novels, namely their conceptual strength, and turning them in cheap melodrama is not how you pay homage to the novels. The “scientists” in the series look like starving nomads, and they are supposed to save the galaxy with their science? The reinterpretation of almost everything is an outright offense to Asimov and his book. I wonder who in his estate signed off on this series… This series may have its fans, but it most certainly is not the Foundation.
