I liked it but…it was just downright cringe. It literally is the story of the wall and the child asks what’s behind the wall? The big scary monsters!!! But really it’s the institutions!!!! Wow, just really original. I couldn’t help but feel it was written by a teenager who wants to stick it to the man in her world of kooky, whacky, so not like other girls/guys cast of original OCs. The problem with this story is that it has suicidal representation and it was everyone else’s fault she was suicidal. What kind of morals is it even teaching? It’s cool to break stuff, act like you want to unalive people is “metal”. Yea, just tired anti hero tropes. I did love the knightcore futuristic setting, I would’ve loved if they had actually explored outside the wall. I wouldn’t let a kid watch it until they’re in high school due to the suicide scene. Also I thought everyone leaving Nimona love notes was just bizarre. She came in and wrecked half the city, I’m sure she hurt people accidentally too. Regardless if she’sa human and just a girl who’s hurting, people would still be terrified of her! And for good reason! They don’t have any reason to believe she won’t just do that on a whim. We as the audience know she wouldn’t, but how could the townies know? If anything, the incident would reinforce their fear in monsters while also now making them fear that their protectors are all corrupt and going to hurt them. I don’t think there’s a happy outcome in this situation. Yea over all very cringe movie, but what do I know it’s just “edgy” and I’m just a “sheep “.🥴

It’s like some 35 yo lady wrote this after reading about heartbreak once and then read too many drinking memes. They tried to make it quirky and anachronistic, but it just fell flat with how horrible everyone, especially Anne, was. I don’t think many movie writers these days are nice people because I find this problem a lot with movies and shows. They tell us who to root for by having side characters lump on praise to the mains when really the leads have done nothing but be terrible people. It’s not relatable. I don’t know who these people are in TV/Film who keep propping up these horrible people as heroes but I’m not buying it. Someone who writes/directs these things has to have actually had a human interaction not selfishly motivated before? Right? Are screenwriters/producers all just soulless aliens? Also she drinks SO much. I thought it was funny at first when they were showing her wallowing from heartbreak but she never stops! Everyone calls her sweet, but she’s just bossy and really mean. Also the hair and makeup really threw me off. Wentworth struggled to speak for some reason. The whole thing was just bad.

This was such a disappointment. IDC about the lesbian couple thing. But Wow. It has no plot, so much filler, and the stupidest most annoying side characters ever. Buzz never makes any meaningful connections with the other characters. His whole role is isolation. His efforts literally don’t impact anyone. You wonder why he’s so proud of himself, when he’s literally never done anything right. He’s not cool or fun like he is in ToyStory. Nothing happens the first half of the movie. The plot was so boring because of a lack of plot and weird plot twists. It felt like a kids tv show where the lesson was sharing is caring but stretched out to be an hour and a half. They should’ve just made it a special on Disney+ And made it only like 45 m. The artwork was beautiful at times. But Andy would never have bought a Buzz toy from this movie bc without the Pixar toy story stamp, this script would never have been funded or produced back in the 90s. Bc it was so BORING!
