The message was good, the image of society was very much a mirror reflecting our own current situation, and overall the story itself was intriguing. However the execution of the movie felt off. It’s hard to pinpoint what exactly was wrong but there was a disingenuous vibe throughout the movie. Part of it was lazy dialogue, part of it was a choppy feeling as it moved from scene to scene, and really it was a movie that tried to deliver a deep message in a way that felt superficial. Don’t look up wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great either. Maybe it would have done better as a miniseries. Either way it is worth a watch even if it doesn’t live up to the hype.
