I have seen a lot of bad reviews in this film. Personally, I watched this film without any speculation or expectation and I really enjoyed each and every part of the film without a doubt, including the music by Anirud and the BGMs by AR Rahman added from Indian 1. The CGI of Vivek and Venu is really great, similar to the CGI by Star Wars in recreating the young Mark Hamill in 'The Mandalorian'. You can easily find which scenes are actually CGI'ed.
I don't think the movie is outdated, because still the meaning of corruption is happening, because corruption is something can be put it can be in many ways like overcapitalisation, which we face in reality. This is highlighted in the film.
I appreciate Shankar that he didn't linger too much time in the film showing the classic flashback emotion before taking revenge of the bad guys in the film, like the Rajini, Vijay Mass films. He just cut right to the chase explaining what the villains did, and they get punished by the Indian thatha.
If you have the most keen eyes, there is a lot of philosophical thought at the end of this movie, whether if younger generation are strong enough to face something that freedom fighters faced during our Independence. Or something suppose if there is far-right activisim, will youngsters be able to stand together to prevent it?.
This is something that we all need to think from this film. I suppose we can answer these questions before Indian 3 come out.
