Season 6 in the Arctic, when contestants were placed in their locations in September, was in my opinion a high risk move and dramatically showed how difficult it is to live on the edge at the end of the growing season and the beginning of winter with virtually no resources. There was very little time for contestants to build a winter shelter while trying to gather food resources and figure out the lay of the land. But thank goodness most contestants had a good sense of humor, which came out in the film footage.
