Avoided this for years thinking it was going to be the standard American fare with a side of soccer...boy was I wrong. I binge watched all 3 seasons in a few days and was left mourning the fact that this world was now done and revisiting it could resurrect the immense feeling of a possibly kind world out there but wouldn't have the same impact it did on first watch. I laughed, I smiled and cried and guffawed my way through the seasons and wondered at the understated and unassuming talent Ted had to bring the humanity into every situation. I was awestruck by the vulnerability displayed by all characters and their strength and self deprecating humour through it all. I walked away motivated to put that extra bit of Ted Lasso empathy and kindness into my every interaction moving forward.

This movie weirded me out at first. I'm not an Adam Sandler fan and had seen the previews with the spider alien and I have a passionate fear of spiders - but all of this did not add up to hate for me. I found myself marvelling at the gentle compassionate tone of the movie and its willingness to go where the pain was ( when humans normally run a mile) and transmute that into something soft and malleable and expansive. Solid acting by Adam Sandler and Carey Mulligan was stellar as usual. Overall, I'd have to say I loved the feeling this movie gave me despite not always understanding how it got me there. Enjoyed this immensely.
