It makes me sad seeing so many one star reviews on this movie, because this is inarguably Wes Andersons greatest film yet. Asteroid City contains a movie inside of itself - another, very confusing movie. The actors (not the real actors, but the actors they are playing as) don't quite get it; intentional on Wes Andersons part, because the movie is an allegory on life. One of the most important lines in the film: "I dont understand the play" is an allegory for life. The quote following "You aren't supposed to get it, you're just along for the ride" is telling the audience something incredibly important: there is not a meaning to life, there never was. You are just along for the ride.
