You will definitely feel short-changed after watching this film.
After the first 20 minutes you start thinking 'when are they getting to IO already?'.
Assuming that the film is around 90 minutes long, I would have expected the first half hour to be spent on their struggle to reach the last ship before it leaves Earth, the next half hour to be spent on showing how they survive the journey to Jupiter of around 6 years and then the final half hour on what happens when they actually arrive on IO. With perhaps a teaser in the last few minutes pointing at a sequel where they set out to visit another sun (Proxima Centauri?).
Instead you get none of this! The entire film is spent with the main characters moping around on Earth and they never even get close to reaching the last ship. So much for a journey to IO then!
Perhaps a more honest title would have been 'a message to IO', because there is definitely no space travel involved here.
Prepare to be disappointed!
