What I liked about the book is that I could relate to it as a Londoner and an African. All the jokes and inuendos made sense. I can see how to others they wouldn’t get it. Even then, there’s a lot of slang which I think would perhaps appeal more to YA audience.
I also feel like it should have a trigger warning somewhere for SA. maybe it was just me and I didn’t read the synopsis properly.
That being said, it was realistic and taught a lot of valuable lessons. I kept listening non stop but maybe it’s because I just wanted to find out. But the book is very realistic. Which is probably why it wasn’t popular. We want things to go a certain way and the book does what people in those situations would do, realistically.
