I already appreciated trees, especially after recently visiting both the Redwood and Sequoia giants. Powers made me appreciate them that much more, how vulnerable both the trees and humans are, and how humanity needs them to continue. A writing style where every paragraph seemed like a poem, you can turn to any page and read an excerpt and think “oh my, that is beautiful.”
