I would prefer to give zero stars. Will someone PLEASE stop beating this dead horse of a concept and just put this series out of our misery. Forced, unnatural, vapid and unbelievably pathetic are the nicest things I can say about it. Not only have the characters not evolved or matured in a material way, they all act like the wannabes that can't fit into the cool kids club. I have no issue with being "woke", but the writers and producer (are you listening Ms. Parker?) seem like they are working from an audit checklist of issues they must include/attack and terminology they must use. I have no idea what these alleged actresses are like as individuals, but not a single one of their characters is likable or relatable in any real way. I wasn't a big fan of the original show because its fans literally believed this was what life in NYC was like. I had many HR issues in my firm as a result of young newly hired women thinking life had nothing to do with hard work and long hours, but everything to do with overspending on ridiculous outfits, partying and promiscuous exploits that were openly discussed in the workplace, which led to several client complaints. Maybe NYC life is like that for some young women who have millions, and don't have to actually have a job and career in a serious industry. But for the average person, it is just fantasy and sadly, many people can't distinguish between fantasy and reality. Fast forward to now and this series reboot only underscores the pathetic nature of the lives of these women. But then I would expect that its fans are the same people who can't tell you the capital of NY but can tell you (verbatim) every detail about every "Real Housewife", "Below Deck" and every other Bravo TV reality show. As much as I thought Kim Cattrall's character was a little too mature to be so constantly sexually explicit, at least she had a little edge. And she was certainly smart enough to dodge the sniper's bullet of this series!!! And in a totally random comment, what the producers did to the character of Steve, making him seem like a deaf, doddering old man was completely insulting. Funny, he seems pretty robust and healthy on Chicago Fire- so I will watch that instead.

Would love to give zero stars. Never a big fan of the TV series - totally unrealistic even in hedonistic times. The first movie was sort of OK. BUT... this piece of crap was a disaster from the start. There was not a single redeeming quality in any character. From that circus of a gay wedding to Charlotte's complete inability to cope like a normal human being to Carrie's childish and petty behavior to Miranda's faux cultural interest (to say nothing of her uttering one of the worst dialogue lines ever -"We have a lot of Abu Dani to do - Abu Dabi Do")... Seriously? And her constant outbursts of "Woo Hoo" while fist pumping is supposed to suggest mirth and a great time? It suggests unhinged insanity to me. Finally, Samantha's continual and over the top sexually charged dialogue - "Lawrence of my labia", "Did the rugby team bring their balls"? "I've had several people in my bed". We get it Samantha - but we don't need to be beaten with your vibrator. This shameless hit on every stereotype may work when you are 15 years old. But really, for a successful, accomplished woman in her 50's to behave like that is offensive to say the least. Basically, no plot, this was just a movie to show fashions and scenery. Each of these alleged actresses should have been ashamed to participate in this cringeworthy production without a shadow of real depth. Every person associated with this horrific production should be ashamed to have their name associated with it. But some will do anything for a fat paycheck. And I guess if you are a fan whose whole life is Real Housewives and all the vapid and ridiculous "reality" Bravo shows, Bravocom, and all the fabulosity that goes with it, then this is your niche movie.

Still think this show is fixed. There are pyramids that a five year old could answer and others that Jeopardy champions couldn't get through. So I think they zero in on people they like and who they feel "present" well and let it go from there. Some of the contestants are among the dumbest people imaginable - maybe I say that because if you look at the show since its inception in the 1970s, it's not enough to be reasonably smart and have a personality. Now you have to be a screaming, over the top idiot to become a contestant. And enough with the constant "innuendo" - does everything have to be so suggestive? I'm not a prude by any stretch, but that schtick gets really tiresome after a while. Of course this is true for most of these types of shows. If that behavior is supposed to suggest excitement, it doesn't - it only suggests insanity and stupidity. On the celebrity front, while they're a few known names, so many of these "celebrities" are people no one over the age of 18 has heard of before. And finally, one of the worst celebrity guests ever was Barbara Corcoran, the alleged uber successful Real Estate Genius of New York (back when the show was actually filmed in New York - another point of contention). She behaved so poorly, taking nothing seriously and literally bombed spectacularly for the poor contestants she partnered with. All she did was mug for the camera, laugh at her awful performance and there was no way the contestants stood a chance at winning with her. She should have written personal checks to any contestant she played with to compensate them for her complete lack of effort.

Normally, I would give no stars for this sinking ship. But the only way to post a review is to give stars (ridiculous in my opinion). I understand that it doesn't have to exactly mimic what the cruise industry is. BUT, this is bad on every level - scripts, plot lines, acting. It isn't entertaining, funny or believable in any way shape or form. None of the cast members are believable as real people, let alone medical professionals. What I don't understand is how a network could cancel a great show like "So Help Me Todd" (and yes, I know that was CBS, not ABC), with crisp writing, and superlatively talented actors, and put this drivel on the air. If CBS is stupid enough to keep that crappy "Ghosts" and "Elsbeth" on the air, couldn't ABC find room for "Todd" instead of this garbage? I wouldn't watch this again even at gunpoint!!
