This movie is long, terrible, dry and boring. The CGI is awful. The acting is sub-par except for maybe Jeff Goldblum but even he was flat and predictable, which is quite unusual for him. The plot development was weak, the character development was practically non-existent except for the forced emotions the audience is supposed to have, which is all sympathy for the green which. You are told over and over that you're supposed to feel bad for her, but between the actress's performance and the character as she is written, there's nothing to like, if nothing to feel bad for. There's no growth, she starts the same as she ends, just like the blonde witch, who somehow is even worse of a character and actress. The audience is constantly beat over the head with how we're supposed to feel instead of letting itt build naturally through character development, such as a goat teacher. We're not shown that this talking goat is good, only that it's discriminated against for being an animal who is supposed to be "seen but not heard." Don't tell your audience how to feel, show them why they should feel that way. The musical numbers are offensively simple, the choreography is strange, out of place and incoherent, much like everything else in this movie. I don't know how anyone who isn't already a fan of this as a play or a book is supposed to enjoy it. I haven't seen the play, I haven't read the book and it feels like all the deeper context I'm supposed to understand without being shown maybe comes from those two additional forms of media because it's missing a whole lot. We jump from the wicked which being discriminated against for being green as a baby, to her being discriminated against for being green as a child to her being discriminated against as an adult in, is it college? I don't know. She learns nothing she didn't already know, to the point where she has a speech about how she didn't eat grass and isn't seasick because she just assumes everyone needs to know why she's green. She has no heart, less brains and again, learns nothing about herself throughout the almost three hours run time. What a cluster of garbage. Watch something else. Occasionally the world around them looks okay at best, but usually it looks small, lifeless and boring. I honestly think it's meant for those who already love it, which excludes any new audience from jumping in. And inside joke that's not explained. It's the worst movie I've seen yet this and last year, and I've sat through some stinkers. Also DO NOT WATCH IT in a theater! People try to sing (screech) along with the songs without giving a sht that they're in a movie theater and it is AWFUL! JUST shut up! People didn't pay to hear YOU sing! Hell, I Don't know what I thought I was paying for but it wasn't worth it. For those of you needed to sing along, get the damn soundtrack on Spotify and sing it in your car or at home, but not if you have dogs because you'll probably hurt their sensitive ears. If you sing along in the movie theater, you are an a-hole. Simple as that.
